Outdoors In

Finding a place for kids to play when it is always raining is a challenge. Hillsboro Parks and Rec is helping parents make it a bit easier.

Outdoors In is located just off the Tom Hughes Civic Center Plaza in the lower level of the NW portion of the Civic Center building in downtown Hillsboro. The facility includes a full-size playground system with slides, an 8-foot climbing wall and a unique whole-body electronic gaming system for a kid-sized cardiovascular workout.
Outdoor In 2-4.jpgThe indoor play park opens Feb. 10, with a public grand opening celebration Feb. 26.

Drop-in play hours will be from 9 a.m. to noon and 2 to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays.

Outdoors in the Park at the Plaza is a place for kids to enjoy a "park" inside.

Specially designed for children ages 12 and under, all users must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

Use fees for ages 1-17 are $3.50 for residents and $5 for non-residents.

Multiple visit punch cards are also available at a slight discount per visit.

Adults accompanying a child are free.

The facility includes a multi-purpose room available for weekend rentals. Various recreation classes for all ages will be offered in the future.

This is much more affordable than other playgrounds around town. I am sure we will make use of this a lot!!!
